IHS54 Volunteers

IHS54 is currently looking for volunteers to help in several capacities from July 30-Aug 7, 2022. All interested applicants need to be available for the full dates listed above – no exceptions. Applicants must be International Horn Society members.

IHS54 needs hardworking and dedicated volunteers to help with the success of the symposium. Areas of work will include, but are not limited to, registration, stage crew, room monitors, facility monitors, badge/ticket check, program distributors, door monitors, exhibitor set-up and tear-down crew, help desk and information center crew, and local transportation crew (when possible).

All volunteers will receive free symposium registration, 50% discount in dorm-style housing, two free IHS54 t-shirts. Meals and Transportation to the symposium will be the responsibility of the volunteer. Dress for the symposium will be IHS54 t-shirt or navy/black shirt with khaki shorts, khaki pants, or dark slacks/jeans. IHS54 badges must be worn at all times.

Application Process:

  1. Send a personal statement indicating previous work experience, if any, in volunteer activities, whether it was past IHS Symposia or similar events (summer camp, internships, etc.) and why you should be considered as a volunteer. Email directly to Jennifer Sholtis, host IHS54.
  2. Include a high resolution headshot (with or without horn) with your personal statement.
  3. Submit an online application by April 1, 2022.
  4. Selected volunteers will be notified before May 1, 2022
