Pan Ye was born in 1987 in Tai Yuan, Shan Xi. At the age of 10, he started horn studies with Bin Li, the hometown teacher. At the year of 12, he went to The Attached School of Central Conservatory of China and studied with Chengxin Zhang for one year and Quan Wen for five years. In his youth, Ye Pan played with the Chinese Youngster Orchestra and Chinese Youth Orchestra. At the age of 18, Ye Pan went to Sibelius Academy to study with Kalervo Kulmala, the wind teacher for the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra, principal horn of the Finish Radio Orchestra for 30 years, and teacher at the Sibelius Academy for 40 years. During his studies at the Sibelius Academy, he worked with many famous and well-known orchestras in Nordic European countries, such as Helsinki Opera, Pori SymphonittaƤ, Navia Youth Orchestra, Kirkkonummi Champer Orchestra, Gothenburg Academic Orchestra. He toured with these orchestra to Sweden, America, Venezuela, Germany, Abu Dhabi, Estonia, Cyprus. Ye Pan won the highest scholarship from Tempere Pro Musica Foundation and graduated from Sibelius Academy as a Horn Performing Master Degree student with a 25/25 score from 5 juries.
Since 2012, Ye Pan has been Principal Horn of the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Jorma Panula, Neeme Jarvi, Paavo Jarvi, Jukka Pekka Saraste, Esa-Pekka Salonen plus many other great conductors, receiving favorable comments from all of them. Since 2017, Ye Pan has been teaching at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre.
